Nokia and Microsoft together against Apple and Google

Nokia Executive Director Stephen Elop and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Nokia and Microsoft signed a strategic partnership to create a stronger competitor to Apple and Google on smartphones market.

Under the new agreement, Nokia will adopt Phone Windows operating system on their smart phones. Microsoft Search Engine Bing will run Nokia's search services, and Nokia Maps has become an integral part of the Microsoft services. Specifically, service maps will be integrated with search engine Bing and Microsoft adCenter advertising platform.

This strategic partnership has been created primarily because of the dominance of Apple's iPhone and devices based on Google's Android OS.

Remember, this week, Nokia's chief executive Stephen Elop compared the situation in his company from burning oil platform at sea.

Once a world leader in mobile phone market fell into a major crisis when it emerged a new generation of smart phones that Nokija has failed to adequately respond.
